BEFORE - to my designer friends, please avert your sight!
Linking to Metamorphosis Monday
Every Monday I have been adding a little gardening related segment. I do this NOT because I'm an expert or even know what I'm doing, let me assure you. Well, this week I have an easy one. At least it was easy for me, since Mr. Darcy did most of the work... This little sitting corner of my back patio needed some sprucing up. We've had this little urchin pot that has been sitting empty since my last house. Once we moved in, right before winter, I just flopped all of these pieces right there and forgot about them... Looking pretty dreary, I know.
AFTER
The plan has always been to plant some succulents in there. Well... So we did. We headed out to Lowe's today and bought as many plants as we thought we could fit in this little vessel. Then Steve stuffed them all in. Literally. We are taking bets if any of it will make it thru the end of the season.
Now, remember:
This Wednesday is Greige's Christina Fluegge's turn at making over my dining room. I just spent a good half an hour gawking at her talented work HERE. To see today's designer go here.
Hugs and Kisses,
Catherine

I have so fallen for succulents lately!! I just planted some myself for the patio.. I hope you had a great weekend!
Love it ~ I was admiring them just yesterday but didn't know where to plant them. Thanks for the great idea!
Jo
You did it again, lovely!
beautiful! I love the succulents!
I bet your succulents last and last and multiply and you will get to decorate even more pots!
btw--- you are a lucky girl to have a 'Mr. Darcy!' I've wanted one ever since I read 'Pride and Prejudice!' :)
Oh so lovely! This was my first season to plant succulents...I am loving the ease of care!
Enjoy!
Cathy
Love the little corner you created!
I adore succulents as well, they seem to be harder for me to kill, which I greatly appreciate!
Absolutely charming, and the succulents were a perfect solution, and so colorful! I would like to sit here and chat with you over a couple of glasses of crisp Viognier! Now, how to get rid of the pesky alligators....
It is that time of year to make the outside as pretty as the inside!! I love your little corner of the world. Succulents are a breeze, just don't over water and you will be fine!! Enjoy your little corner. I have been in the process of doing my porch. It is finally done and I will post the pict on wed. or thurs. It is so hard to get a good photo. Next onto the backyard!!Enjoy your week,Kathysue
ah how nice it is to live outside again. I just love what you have done. Have a grand week, i have my thinking cap on for ideas for the guest post...off to hunt around for inspiration.
Love-er-lee! What a delightful place to sit! I think I'll come over and just sit there while you work around me! I'll bring the sweet tea. I have become a follower and would be honored if you choose to do the same! until later...
One Crafty - thank you,luv.
Christina - yeah, but I bet your are 15 times bigger and more dramatic... you designers types amaze me with your talent
Karena - you are such a sweet soul.
Jo - just a little push, sometimes that's all we need.
Sandra - I love your enthusiasm
Christina Moreno - you should know. I love hearing from the experts
Donald - thanks for the words of encouragement. And you know, everybody needs one of those. they sure are handy to have around the house. :D
Cathy - I will be pretty embarassed if yours make it and mine don't
The Zhush - that was kinda the driving force behind my plan
Kel - I don't think alligators much care for Viognier. So we are safe. :)
Kathysue - the AFTER shot was taken at dusk... I kinda like how it turned out.
Housewife - I know you won't disappoint.
Your little corner is very quaint. I like the mirror too. Dropping by from BNOTP, #7.

it looks great, I have a special love for succulnets, they are so easy to take care of :)
beautiful! you so know what you're doing when it comes to gardening, by the way! : )
Since I have a bit of a brown-ish thumb, I am going with the great pillow. Although I do have 3 Christmas cactus' that I have not killed in 5 years!
Beautiful ideas here-thanks for posting them. I love your little gardening posts.
Best wishes,
Natasha.
Hi Catherine, I even like your before picture! Very lovely little area. I think the succulents suite the sea urchin container. Beautifully done. Outdoor living room space.
Thanks for your kind comments. I think I will do a post about how I plan my weekly menus. Thanks for the inspiration. Look for it in a couple of weeks as part of my menu plan!
Blessings,
Yvonne
